Robert Claude is a retired attorney currently residing in Livingston, Montana.  After graduating high school in Houston, Texas, he attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Government in 1978. Mr. Claude earned his law degree from The George Washington University in 1981 and, after a brief stint in private practice in Washington, DC, returned to Houston where he eventually joined the corporate law department of a local gas utility and pipeline company.  While in-house, his practice consisted of general corporate law with specialties in trial practice, litigation management and regulatory law. He retired as associate general counsel to the company in in 2014.  During his retirement, Mr. Claude continued legal work with some Texas clients and also established the consulting firm RWC Resources, LLC, which has provided energy restructuring and energy regulatory advice to investment firms and other entities.

Mr. Claude’s interest in public policy began at William & Mary (the alma mater of three U.S. presidents) and continued as a lawyer and volunteer in numerous political campaigns and issue-oriented organizations.  During that time, he helped draft, promote and pass legislation and administrative rules on energy regulation, legal reform and credit and financial restructuring issues. His interests also were international in scope. In particular, he participated in legal exchange programs in Israel and China under the auspices of the State Department, where he met with lawyers and government officials to promote the rule of law.
